Visit MORBIHAN in South Brittany
The Morbihan boasts a number of charming destinations that appeal to visitors, not least for the beauty of their landscapes.
The department’s towns and villages are also known for their architectural gems, including churches and chapels, castles and typical old houses.
Prehistoric sites can also be found in some parts of Morbihan, providing information about the way of life and environment of the region’s distant human communities, while still retaining an element of mystery. One example is the megalithic site of Carnac, which groups together thousands of dolmens and menhirs whose significance cannot yet be confirmed with certainty, due to a lack of concrete evidence.
